Job description:
We are looking for a tax expert to manage and facilitate the accurate preparation and filing of our company’s tax forms.
The ideal candidate is a team player who manages the tax team to greater performance, creates and implements tax plans and works with the accounting and leadership teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and potential risk areas.
The Tax Manager will ensure compliance with UK and US tax law through a series of systems and system controls designed to provide accurate, timely reporting.
Furthermore, they will monitor current and impending changes to tax regulation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies.
The ideal candidate is single-minded in their pursuit of ensuring compliance and achieves this goal through optimising reporting procedures and driving the successful function of the tax team.

Key responsibilities:
Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of company tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated tax returns and other business-related filings.
Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
Provide clients with tax advisory services
Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of tax documents.
Mentoring the junior and senior staff assigned to you
Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalise on changes to taxation legislation.
Provide support with various internal audits and special tax-related projects.
Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
Manage and mentor tax team members to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
Giving clients tax advice.

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience:
MINIMUM 4-6  years of experience in UK tax and experience with cross-border taxation and US ex-pats.

Qualifications:
UK qualification as a tax professional

Skills required:
Extensive tax knowledge
Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong ability to utilise project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members.
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
IT skills – accounting software, word etc.
Excellent communicator with the ability to communicate complex tax issues in basic terms
A reliable team player with the ability to work to deadlines
Encouraging and motivational to junior staff
Able to apply good judgement, consult appropriately and manage risks
Ensuring the quality of personal tax work is done to agreed cost and timescales
Cross-border UK & US tax experience including knowledge of treaties and international tax planning

Part-Time – 2 days / 4 hours per week  (Pay: £ 55,000 Pro-Rata)
