Accountant and Finance Manager

• Accountant and Finance Manager for UK-based B2B SaaS start-up
  Non-negotiable Skills: UK accounting certification, Xero certification
  Billing type: Hourly or daily; 1-2 days per week
  Timings: Start – ASAP. Duration – minimum 2 months, hopefully permanent
  Location: Work from anywhere (time zone not too far from the UK)
  Hiring process: 30 mins interview with the founders, 1 week try out (paid)

  We are not looking for agencies to help us out – we’re looking for a freelancer who wants to work 1-2 days per week and, in time, has a desire to become a permanent member of the team.

  Hi there, we are www.lobium.ai. We make data work harder for Public Affairs.

  We are a team of 9, building a B2B desktop portal that helps professionals in the fields of Politics, Policy and Public Affairs receive valuable and actionable intelligence so that they can engage more successfully in legislative processes. For example, using NLP, we have built a stakeholder-issue analysis tool that discovers and plots stakeholders’ positions related to a legislative initiative. And we have lots of other really cool ideas on our roadmap.

  We have just won the EU Datathon 2022 competition and are getting our first clients through the door.

  About the role
  We need to restructure and professionalise our accounting and financial systems. In practice this means:

  Manage and improve accounting in XERO

  Prepare quarterly VAT returns

  Prepare annual corporate tax return

  Invoice management

  Monthly dashboarding of company’s financial situation and forecast (cashflow etc.)

  Our company consists of freelancers only, so payroll management is not necessary.

  You MUST demonstrate experience / knowledge of:

  General bookkeeping knowledge (AAT, ACCA or other certification)
  Proven Xero knowledge and experience

  Nice to haves

  Automation of finance, accounting, sales workflows
  Knowledge of Stripe
  Knowledge of Pipedrive sales CRM
  Knowledge of Jira / Atlassian
