Bookkeeper needed to help manage accounts for motorcycle tour operator

We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to help manage the accounts for Bikerbnb Adventures (www.bikerbnb.com), a packaged holiday tour operator based in Scotland. From April through October, Bikerbnb runs guided motorcycle tours across the north of Scotland and Spain. We also offer self-guided experience packages where riders can hire a motorcycle from our Edinburgh workshop.

We are a small team and often get very busy. We have a ‘roll up our sleeves’ approach to business, but recgonise that as the business grows each year, we need to bring on our additional staff to support our operations especially over the tour season.

We are looking for a bookkeeper to help reconcile transactions, administer invoices, post monthly payroll journals, share monthly management accounts and ensure that we stay compliment with the Tour Operator Margin Scheme.

Relevant Experience Includes:

– WooCommerce Administration
– Xero
– VAT administration, particuliarly the Tour Operator Margin Scheme (TOMS)
– Reconcillation across multiple bank accounts
– Payroll journals
– Monthly management accounts
– Invoicing as needed

We already work with an external CFO who helps steer the business in terms of financial, operational and tax considerations; a chartered accountant who processes payroll and finalises the end of year accounts; and a specialised accountancy to ensure we comply with the TOMS scheme.

All of the operational systems and groundwork has been implemented and works most of the time (perhaps working together we can improve things?!). We are seeking someone to help round out this mix and deliver on this short-term scope of work. We are not looking for a stepchange in how we operate, but some extra resources to take pressure off our team so we can focus on growing the business.
